Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical
Location: Franklin, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Description
- Requires NIH certification (mandatory) and ACLS certification (preferred).
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required.
- Prior travel nursing experience is required.
- May be required to float within skill set to other onsite units or to sites within a 40-mile radius.
- Work schedule includes every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- One completed travel nursing assignment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
- Valid driver's license.
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Submission of professional resume/profile and at least two professional references prior to assignment.
- Completion of signed assignment agreement and onboarding paperwork onsite.
- Current and verified licensure and certifications, including:
- BLS (AHA)
- NIH certification
- ACLS (preferred)
- Completion of specialty competency exams and skills checklists with minimum passing scores (80%) prior to first assignment and updated every 3 years or annually as required.
- Completion of EPIC test-out and training checklist with signed attestation prior to start.
- Compliance with health and safety screenings including:
- 2-step PPD or IGRA testing for tuberculosis with required follow-up documentation.
- MMR vaccination proof or positive titer (no declinations accepted).
- Varicella immunity documentation or vaccination (no declinations accepted).
- Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement).
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite).
- Annual 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
- Submission of a statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- Criminal background check including Social Security trace, OIG search, national sex offender registry, and EPLS within 90 days prior to start and updated annually or after breaks in service.
- Verification of education and employment history for the past seven years prior to start and updated annually or after breaks in service.
- Valid driver's license or state ID matching address requirements.
Additional Notes
- Must be able to work night shifts and comply with floating requirements as needed.
- Must maintain all required certifications and complete ongoing competency assessments as specified.
- Compliance with all onboarding and credentialing requirements is mandatory for assignment clearance.
