Registered Nurse (RN) Float - Nights
Location: Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Description
- Position on the Nursing Resource Team (NRT) with floating responsibilities.
- Float to inpatient Adult Behavioral Health, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Medical/Surgical, and Emergency Department (ED) to care for boarded med/surg patients.
- No floating to ICU or Women’s & Children’s Units.
- Must be very flexible and comfortable with floating, including mid-shift float assignments.
- Staffing office notifies assignment location approximately 90 minutes before shift start.
- Patient population includes adult behavioral health and med/surg patients.
- Experience with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation preferred.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Idaho.
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience, including experience within the last year.
- 2 years or more of total travel nursing experience.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Certification in Management of Aggressive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience with cardiac drips.
- Experience with non-invasive ventilation.
- Float experience.
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience.
Additional Onboarding Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccination required.
- Proof of immunizations or declinations for MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and Influenza (October 1 – March 31).
- Tuberculosis (TB) test within the last 12 months (one-step skin test, T-Spot, or Quantiferon).
- Annual TB questionnaire within the past 12 months.
- Physical/health statement within 12 months of assignment start.
- Drug screening (rapid 10-panel) within 14 days of start date.
- Background checks including 7-year county criminal search, SSN trace, national criminal database, and sex offender registry within 30 days of start.
- Verification of education (diploma/degree/transcript).
- Professional references (2 required).
- Completion of facility-specific core competencies, skills checklist, and unit exam.
- Driver’s license or state ID.
- Fingerprinting appointment scheduled before Day 1.
Notes
- Resume submission is required.
- Must be adaptable to variable assignments and locations within the facility.
- Behavioral health certifications and classes will be provided onsite if not already held.
