Job Description

• Position: PACU Registered Nurse
• Shift: 5–8 hour day shifts
• Additional Requirements: On-call coverage for nights, weekends, and holidays
• Housing: Shared housing provided (no pets or guests allowed)
• Transportation: Car required
• Health: Flu vaccine required

Required Credentials & Compliance

Licensure & Certifications

• Professional License: Primary source verification of nursing license required within 30 days of start date; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted. Both NURSYS and Board of Nursing verification required.
• BLS Certification: Required prior to onboarding (AHA preferred; Red Cross accepted).
• Resume: Must include past 7 years of work experience with city and state details.
• References: Two recent references required, at least one supervisor or above in the relevant skillset.
• Skills Checklist: Must be submitted.

Background & Screening

• Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start and updated if break >6 months. Includes county and international searches if applicable.
• Massachusetts CORI Check: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated if break >6 months.
• SSN Trace: Required with criminal check, covering last 7 years of addresses and aliases.
• National Sex Offender Registry Check: Within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
• Exclusion Checks: OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid exclusion lists checked within 30 days prior to start and annually.

Health & Immunizations

• Fit Test: N95 respirator fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually. Must be completed prior to start; no religious exemptions.
• MMR: Documentation of two measles, two mumps, and one rubella vaccine OR two MMR vaccines OR proof of immunity via blood test.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30); no exemptions allowed.
• TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date; updated if break >6 months.
• Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date; updated if break >6 months.
• Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation: Required as part of fit test documentation.
• Hepatitis B: Strongly preferred but optional; documentation of vaccine series or immunity or declination.
• Tdap: Preferred within last 10 years but optional.
• Positive PPD with Negative Chest X-Ray: Required if applicable.
• TB Symptom Survey: Recommended if positive PPD; updated annually.

Additional Requirements

• Housing Agreement: Required if moving into shared housing.
• Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form: Required for all initial assignments and extensions, updated if start date changes.
• Education Verification: Verified through background check company; highest level of education must be confirmed.

Summary

This is a long-term PACU RN position requiring day shifts with on-call responsibilities. Candidates must meet extensive credentialing, background, and health requirements, including immunizations and fit testing. Shared housing is provided with restrictions, and a car is necessary for transportation. Compliance with all Massachusetts healthcare regulations and Mass General Brigham policies is mandatory.
