Job Opportunity: CT Technologist - Night Shift
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Operate CT equipment (CT scanner, Power Injector, Laser Printer, Patient monitoring devices) to acquire diagnostic images for physician use.
- Float among radiology clinics and divisions as needed.
- Prepare patients for exams, ensuring proper positioning, immobilization, and use of protective shielding.
- Explain exams to patients considering their physical and emotional needs while maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Calibrate and verify equipment operation daily; report malfunctions.
- Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under radiologist direction, following all policies.
- Complete Radiology Information System tasks (scheduling, exam completion, image transfer).
- Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and maintain CEUs per Massachusetts licensure and ARRT requirements.
- May oversee and instruct personnel and students in radiography, CT, and nuclear medicine.
- Prepare and stock equipment and supplies.
- Participate in research, quality assurance, and quality improvement projects.
- Provide on-call coverage and flexible shift/overtime support as needed.
- Rotate within department, divisions, and off-site clinics by shift.
- Transport and transfer patients per departmental guidelines.
- Use independent judgment and initiative under pressure during exams.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
- Registered in CT by ARRT or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of experience as a CT Technologist preferred, including at least 1 year of cross-sectional anatomy coursework.
- Experience with Level 1 trauma and Siemens equipment is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients under physical and/or emotional stress.
- Analytical abilities to understand imaging processes, techniques, procedures, and cross-sectional anatomy.
Certifications & Compliance Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA preferred).
- ARRT certification.
- Fit Test (N95 respirator) within 365 days of start date, updated annually.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or immunity documentation.
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (no exemptions).
- Tuberculosis (TB) screening within 3 months of start date, updated if break >6 months.
- Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months.
- Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI, SSN trace, National Sex Offender Check, and exclusion checks.
- Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) attestation if fit test required.
- Documentation of education verification and work history for the past 7 years.
- References: 2 within 4 years, including at least 1 supervisor or higher in skillset.
- Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission.
Additional Notes
- Must be willing to float among various radiology clinics and divisions.
- Must be flexible with shift coverage, including on-call and overtime.
- Submit a professional color photo (recent, plain background, no glasses).
- Maintain all required documentation and certifications current throughout assignment.
