Location: Northampton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 (Day Shift)
Schedule: Every other weekend
Job Summary
- Provide care to patients with urgent or critical illness, emergency care needs, and non-urgent treatment.
- Triage patients based on care requirements and perform ongoing assessments.
- Deliver immediate interventions and discharge teaching.
- Care for diverse populations including pre-natal, neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Collaborate on an interdisciplinary level, adapting communication to patients' intellectual and physical abilities.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Certification in Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB), or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), or successful completion of an advanced dysrhythmia exam.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Credentialing & Compliance Requirements
- Professional license and certification primary source verification within 30 days of start date; updated upon expiration.
- Submission of a recent color badge photo (taken within past 6 months, plain background, no eyeglasses).
- Fit test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date; updated annually (no onsite testing).
- Respirator Medical Clearance attestation completed prior to fit testing.
- Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR).
- Tuberculosis (TB) screening: documentation of TB skin test or blood test within 3 months of start date; updated if break >6 months.
- Physician health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date; updated if break >6 months.
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start; includes county and international residence/employment history for last 7 years.
- Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start.
- National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start; updated annually.
- Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start; updated annually.
- Verification of highest level of education achieved.
- Social Security Number trace as part of criminal background check.
- Submission of a detailed resume covering past 7 years of work experience including city and state.
- Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the relevant skillset.
- Completion of a skills checklist within 1 year of submission.
- Submission of a candidate coversheet for initial assignment and new facility submissions.
- Confirmation of assignment/POI form required upon acceptance and for extensions.
Additional Notes
- Positive TB test requires documentation of a negative chest x-ray after the positive test.
- Name change documentation required if legal name differs from credential or profile documentation.
- No religious or medical exemptions allowed for N95 fit testing.
- CPI course must be 6 hours including hands-on and de-escalation training for violent patients; may be completed onsite within 30 days if necessary.
This position requires a highly skilled Emergency Room RN with certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI/MOAB, able to work day shifts every other weekend for a 13-week long-term assignment in Massachusetts.
