Job Opportunity: Acute Care RN

Location: Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: August 17, 2026
Shift: Day/Night rotation (mostly nights)
Housing: Shared housing available (no guests or pets allowed; must have own transportation)


Job Description

  • Provide acute care nursing services on a medical/surgical unit.
  • Work primarily night shifts with some day shifts on rotation.

Required Qualifications

  • License: Valid RN license for Massachusetts. MA Conditional Licenses are not accepted. Primary source verification required within 30 days of start date. Both NURSYS and Board of Nursing verification required.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted).
  • Experience: Minimum years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing not explicitly stated; assume standard RN acute care competency.
  • Immunizations and Health Requirements:
    • Flu vaccine required.
    • Documentation of MMR immunity (two measles, two mumps, one rubella vaccine series or two MMR vaccines) or proof of immunity via blood test.
    • TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test) and updated if there is a break in assignment longer than 6 months.
    • If positive TB test, negative chest x-ray documentation required.
    • N95 respirator fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no exemptions allowed).
    • Respirator Medical Clearance attestation required if fit test is required.
    • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if break longer than 6 months.
  • Background Checks and Screening:
    • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, updated if break longer than 6 months. Includes county and international residence/employment history for last 7 years.
    • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date, updated if break longer than 6 months.
    • National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
    • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start date and annually.
    • Social Security Number trace as part of background check.
  • Professional Documentation:
    • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
    • Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the same skillset.
    • Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission.
    • Confirmation of assignment form required upon acceptance and for any extensions.
    • Education verification through background check company (highest level achieved).
    • Candidate submission coversheet required for initial assignment and new facility submissions.
    • Housing agreement required if moving into shared housing.
    • Beeline attestation completed after registration.

Additional Notes

  • No onsite N95 fit testing available; must be completed prior to start date using the designated form.
  • Shared housing rules strictly prohibit guests and pets.
  • Must have own transportation to and from work and housing.
