Job Opportunity: RN Cath Lab - Illinois (Evanston)

Position Details

• Call Requirements:

  • OR/IR coverage
  • Call every 3rd weekend
  • At least 16 on-calls in a 6-week period

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
• Serve as primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
• Follow physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Registered Nurse credentialed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
• BLS Provider certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).

Experience

• 1 to 2 years of cumulative job-specific experience required.
• Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR) experience strongly preferred.
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years (taking the higher value from the range provided).

Prior Travel Experience

Onboarding and Credential Requirements

Professional Credentials

• Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport (required for onboarding).
• Prime OIG, SAM/EPLS checks.
• Resume and two professional references (required for submission).
• Criminal background check (national, within one year).
• Social Security Card or Passport.
• Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation).
• Badge photo (clear headshot, JPEG format).
• Job description signed by employee.
• Education verification.
• Essentials onboarding packet.
• Onboarding education attestation (must be completed prior to clearance).

Personal Health History / Immunizations

• COVID-19 vaccine: 2 doses plus booster or declination completed.
• MMR: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer.
• Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity.
• Influenza vaccine or declination (required October 1 - May 31).
• TB test within one year of start date.
• Varicella vaccination or immunity.
• Tdap vaccination.
• Annual TB questionnaire.
• Physical/Health statement annually (must state clear to work).

Testing and Exams

• Prime Core Competencies Exam (minimum 80% score).
• Prime Skills Checklist (required for submission).
• Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80% score).
• Prime Specialty Exam (minimum 80% score).
• Prime Color-blind test (updated annually).

Additional Certifications

• DCI/BVP certification (can be completed via Relias or similar platforms).

Fit Testing

• Annual respirator fit test required.
• Must be completed prior to start as onsite fit testing is not available in Illinois.

This position is ideal for experienced RN Cath Lab nurses with strong cardiac cath and IR experience, who are comfortable with call responsibilities and meet the comprehensive credentialing and immunization requirements.
