Required Qualifications

  • Current RN license valid in Connecticut (license verification must be dated within 30 days of start)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
  • Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the past year
  • Skills checklist for clinical contractors (provided by agency)
  • Fit test and respirator evaluation with physician signature
  • Current immunizations and health requirements including:
    • COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption/declination (booster required through Sept 2025)
    • Influenza vaccine or approved exemption/declination (valid for upcoming flu season)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) proof of vaccination or immunity
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series initiated prior to start
    • Varicella vaccination or immunity proof
    • Tdap vaccine (declinations accepted if no pediatric interaction)
    • 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test with chest x-ray if positive (per state requirements)
  • Physical/health statement confirming fitness to work within the last year
  • 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC)
  • Background and professional verifications including:
    • Federal, nationwide, and county criminal background check within last 7 years
    • Social Security Number verification
    • Education verification (highest degree or diploma)
    • Exclusion screenings (OIG, EPLS, NSO, OFAC) dated within 30 days of start
    • Signed Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest Disclosure, Confidentiality and Security Agreement, Integrity and Audit Services Form
    • System access form completed one week before start
    • Joint Commission CORE exam within the past year
