Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: Syracuse, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM (36 hours/week) with every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) rotation
Call: No call required

Job Description
- Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department.
- Work scheduled shifts as per department rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York.
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Compliance & Onboarding Requirements
- License/certification verification dated within 30 days of start.
- Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year.
- Fit testing for masks as applicable.
- Immunizations and health documentation:
- COVID-19 vaccine (including booster or approved declination/exemption)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) proof of vaccination or immunity
- Hepatitis B vaccination series started prior to start date
- Varicella vaccination or immunity proof
- Tdap vaccine or declination if no pediatric interaction
- 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) for TB screening
- Physical/health statement confirming fitness to work within the last year.
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start.
- Background and professional verifications:
- Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years)
- Employment verification for last 7 years
- Education verification (highest degree or diploma)
- Various compliance forms including code of conduct, confidentiality, conflict of interest, system access, and audit services.
- Federal exclusion lists checks (OIG, EPLS, NSO) within 30 days of start.
- Skills checklist provided by agency for clinical contractors.
- CORE exam (Joint Commission testing) within the last year.
Additional Information
- Emergency Department nursing requires ability to work night shifts and rotate weekends/holidays.
- No on-call responsibilities.
- Use of Epic EHR system.
This position is suitable for experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses who meet the certification and compliance requirements and are willing to commit to a 13-week assignment with night shifts and rotating weekends/holidays.
