Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Hartford, Connecticut
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW)
Job Description
- Work in the Emergency Department (ED) providing direct patient care.
- Required trauma experience: Level 1 or Level 2 trauma.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid and verified within 30 days of start date.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association certification required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – American Heart Association certification required.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) certification required.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Valid RN license in Connecticut.
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year.
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma or Level 2 Trauma patients.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Health & Safety Requirements
- Fit test for respirator use.
- COVID-19 vaccine proof (including booster by September 2025), or approved declination/exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
- Influenza vaccine is optional but recommended.
- Proof of MMR vaccination (2 doses or immunity titer).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series must be started prior to start date.
- Proof of Varicella immunity or vaccination.
- 2-step PPD or IGRA TB test; if positive, chest X-ray required within last year for CT and certain states.
- Physical exam within the last year confirming fitness to work.
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC).
- Tdap vaccine or declination if no pediatric interaction.
Professional & Compliance Requirements
- Completion of specialty-specific competency testing within the last year.
- Skills checklist provided by agency for clinical contractors.
- Signed Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Conflict of Interest Disclosure, and Integrity/Audit Services forms.
- Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years) with SSN verification dated within 30 days of start.
- Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma/GED.
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusion checks dated within 30 days.
- Joint Commission CORE exam within the last year.
- NSO (National Sex Offender) check dated within 30 days.
- System access form completed and uploaded one week before start.
- OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) sanctions check within 30 days.
