Job Description

• RN needed for Operating Room (OR)
• Shifts: 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM
• Call is required, no exceptions
• Must have prior experience as a nurse

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting for all age groups (neonates to older adults)
• Coordinate patient care with surgeons and anesthesiologists
• Direct and guide OR technicians and other personnel
• Maintain professional nursing standards and adhere to hospital/unit policies and regulations
• Participate in performance improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services
• Act as a resource for other personnel
• Ensure efficient patient flow and unit organization

Qualifications & Requirements

• Current and valid New Jersey RN license
• Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained
• Current ACLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained
• Current PALS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained
• Minimum 1 year perioperative experience or on-the-job training
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) certification preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Pre/Post-Op experience preferred
• Must be able to take call

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• Valid RN license verification (Nursys)
• Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%)
• Prime Basic Rhythm Interpretation Screening (minimum 80%)
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster or declination completed
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza (seasonal)
• Annual TB test
• Annual respirator fit test (specific mask types accepted)
• Hepatitis B vaccination or declination (declinations not accepted at some locations)
• Annual physical/health statement confirming clearance to work
• National criminal background check within one year of start date (with some state-specific exceptions)
• Prime Core Competencies Exam (minimum 80%)
• Prime Skills Checklist
• Prime Color-blind test (annual)
• Prime Specialty Exam (minimum 80%)
• Prime Agency Attestation and other professional documentation (e.g., Form I-9, SAM/EPLS check)
• Drug screening (minimum 10-panel including THC) within 60 days of start
• Driver’s license, State ID, or Passport required

Additional Notes

• Must be prepared for call duty as part of the job
• CNOR certification and BSN degree are preferred but not mandatory
• This is a 3-month contract position
