Job Opportunity: RN Cath Lab

Location: Evanston, Illinois

Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)

Job Description

• Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
• Serve as primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
• Follow physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with healthcare team members.
• Provide coverage for OR/IR.
• Call requirements: every 3rd weekend and at least 16 on-calls in a 6-week period.

Requirements

• Licensure/Certification:

  • Registered Nurse credentialed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
  • BLS Provider certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Experience:

  • 1-2 years of cumulative job-specific experience required.
  • Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR) experience strongly preferred.

Onboarding & Credentialing Requirements

• Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport (required for onboarding).
• Prime OIG check.
• Drug screening (10-panel test) – specific to CA locations but may be relevant for policy awareness.
• Color-blind test (annual).
• Agency attestation and SAM/EPLS exclusion search.
• COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses plus booster or declination).
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza (seasonal), Tdap, and TB testing.
• Annual respirator fit test (must be completed prior to start for IL region).
• Physical/Health statement (clear to work, completed annually or within 60 days of start).
• National criminal background check within one year of start date.
• Social Security Card or Passport.
• Prime Core Competencies Exam (minimum 80% score).
• Prime Skills Checklist (submission required).
• Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80% score).
• Prime Specialty Exam (minimum 80% score).
• Prime Badge Photo (facility-specific clear headshot).
• Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation).
• Signed job description acknowledgment.
• Education verification and onboarding education attestation (must be completed prior to clearance).
• DCI/BVP certification (can be completed via Relias or similar).
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Nursys license verification.

This position is ideal for experienced RN Cath Lab nurses seeking a long-term assignment in a hospital setting with specialized cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology responsibilities.
