Description
Job Opportunity: Speech Language Pathologist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Willmar, Minnesota
Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift:
- Monday - Thursday: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Pediatric outpatient setting, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license in Minnesota
- Must live at least 25 miles from the facility
Certifications (as applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for some roles, not for Pediatric SLP
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Not required for Pediatric SLP
- Other certifications may be required depending on role and setting
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit testing for N95 masks required
- Tdap vaccination required (no religious declinations accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per Minnesota state guidelines
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (vaccination, positive titer, or declination)
- Flu vaccination or declination (with mask requirement if declined)
- COVID-19 vaccination preferred; medical/religious exemptions accepted
- Drug testing not required for client clearance but must be within 1 year if done
Background and Verification
- Criminal background check within 1 year of start (including multi-level searches)
- Education verification (third party) required (not required for CNAs)
- Two professional references from recent employers within 2 years
- Skills checklist required for clinical candidates
- Work history verification (3 years for non-clinical)
- Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint clearance required (must be completed immediately after contract signing; no starts allowed with fingerprints pending unless approved)
Facility Specific Notes
- Dress code must be reviewed prior to start
- Education modules (~16 hours) completed during orientation (except some locations)
- Confidentiality agreement must be signed prior to start
- Badge photo required (grey background, no selfies)
- Candidates must return badges on last day of assignment
- If traveler is called off, guaranteed contracted hours will still be paid
Additional Information
- Medication and competency exams may be required depending on profession
- Various CEU requirements apply, including state-mandated courses for certain roles
- Fingerprinting and background check processes are strictly regulated by Minnesota law and must be prioritized
