Job Opportunity: RN CVICU - Nashville, Tennessee

Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Start Date: December 15 (Non-negotiable)
Shift: 36 or 48 hours per week
Holiday Requirement: Must work 1 of 2 holidays


Position Overview

Registered Nurse with CVICU specialty needed for a long-term assignment in Nashville, TN. The role requires flexibility in shift hours and holiday coverage.


Required Credentials & Certifications

Licenses & Professional Credentials (Must be submitted prior to assignment)

  • Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Driver’s License or State ID (valid, not expired, matching address requirements)
  • Resume/Profile
  • Two professional references (qualifying, prior to first assignment)

Certifications (Must be current and valid prior to start)

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • NIH Certification (Group A updated yearly; Groups B-F every 2 years)
  • Tdap (valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted)
  • MMR (proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations)
  • Varicella (proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations)
  • Influenza Vaccine (required during flu season; exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
  • Fit Test (preferred prior to start; required annually)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination series completion or signed declination)
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with annual TB questionnaire updates

Health & Testing Requirements (Must be completed prior to or at start)

  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
  • Health Statement or physical exam (prior to first assignment, updated annually)
  • Ascension Color Vision test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years)
  • Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within 1 year and TB questionnaire
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, 2 attempts max)
  • Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of 80%, 2 attempts max; updated version required)
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical specialty, completed within 1 year, updated annually)

Background & Verification (Must be current)

  • Criminal Background Check (7-year search including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG, National Sex Offender; updated annually or after >90 days break)
  • EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start, rerun if break >90 days
  • Education Verification (relevant to clinical work, within 90 days of start, rerun if break >90 days)
  • Employment Verification (past 7 years, updated annually or after >90 days break)
  • Confirmation of Assignment documentation (initial and updates upon extension)

Onboarding Requirements (Must be completed prior to or at start)

  • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (done onsite)
  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training)
  • Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules (for non-allied positions)
  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out (test results and training checklist with signed attestation)
  • Ascension Badge Photo (forward-facing headshot, white or blue background, no filters)

Optional

  • Ascension Unit Specific Checklist (optional for onboarding, uploaded by unit leader within a week)
  • Positive PPD - Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire (optional if applicable)
  • Hiring Manager Evaluation (post-assignment)
  • Legal Name Change Documentation (if applicable)
