Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room

Job Description

• Provide care to patients with urgent or critical illness, emergency care needs, and non-urgent care.
• Triage patients based on care requirements.
• Perform ongoing assessment, immediate interventions, and discharge teaching.
• Care for diverse populations including pre-natal, neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Collaborate on an interdisciplinary level, adapting communication to patient's intellectual and physical abilities.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN License (no conditional licenses accepted)
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
• CPI or MOAB certification

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS, ACLS, PALS: Preferred from AHA; Red Cross accepted.
• License Verification: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start date.
• CPI: 6-hour course including hands-on and de-escalation training; accepted CPI, MOAB, or AVADE.
• Fit Test: N95 fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually.
• MMR: Documentation of vaccines or proof of immunity required.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions.
• TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or blood test within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break.
• Health Statement: Physician statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
• Criminal Background Checks: Including Massachusetts CORI, national sex offender check, exclusion checks, and SSN trace.
• Education Verification: Highest level of education verified through background check.

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
• Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above).
• Skills checklist.
• Candidate submission coversheet.
• MGB Badge Photo: Color photo taken within past 6 months, plain background, no eyeglasses.

Additional Notes

• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation required as part of fit test documentation.
• Positive TB test requires negative chest x-ray documentation.
• Hepatitis B and Tdap vaccines are strongly preferred but optional.
• Criminal background and compliance checks must be current and updated if there is a break in service.
