Job Description
This is a travel nursing position in the Emergency Room setting. The assignment is with a well-established healthcare system in Wichita, Kansas.
Required Credentials and Certifications
Certifications (Must be AHA approved unless otherwise noted)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
- CPI Blue Card Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or MOAB De-Escalation Course (online portion must be completed prior to start; on-site portion at orientation)
Licenses and Verifications
- Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
- Driver’s License/State ID (must be current and match address requirements)
Testing and Checklists
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out (test results and signed attestation required)
- Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, updated yearly)
- Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated as per latest edition)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, updated annually)
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
- Ascension Nova StatStrip (pre-hire modules for non-allied positions)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Fit Test: Required annually; preferred prior to start
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Positive PPD with Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire (preferred; updated annually)
- 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) within required timeframes
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
Professional Requirements
- Resume/Profile submission
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others (completed within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
- Employment Verification for the past seven years (updated annually)
- Education Verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days of start)
- Confirmation of Assignment documentation (provided upon initial assignment and updates)
Additional Notes
- Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background required for badge photo
- All required documents and verifications must be completed and submitted as per onboarding guidelines
- Some checklists and attestations must be completed prior to or at orientation
- Compliance with all credentialing and health requirements is mandatory for assignment clearance
