Job Description

• Work schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) or based on department needs; Every Other Hour (EOH) rotating with regular staff
• Required experience: Minimum 2 years in Emergency Room
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles as needed

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• PALS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
• Ascension-specific certifications and exams including:

  • Ascension Color Vision Test
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics)
  • Ascension EKG Exam
  • Ascension Epic Test-Out
  • Ascension Specialty Exam
  • Ascension MOAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior)
• Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• Influenza Vaccine: Recommended for flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
• Fit Test: Required annually (specific mask types for WI and MI)
• TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually

Professional & Compliance Requirements

• Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
• Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (onsite)
• Ascension Unit Specific Checklist (optional for onboarding)
• Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
• At least two professional references prior to first assignment
• Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days prior to first assignment
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days prior to start
• Education Verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start
• Employment Verification for past 7 years
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills competency) within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Driver’s License/State ID (must be current and valid)
• Ascension Confirmation of Assignment documentation

Additional Notes

• Must provide a forward-facing headshot with white or blue background (no alterations) for badge photo
• May be required to complete post-assignment evaluations
• Floating to other sites within 40 miles may be required based on department needs

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs who are comfortable with travel assignments, EPIC system, and meeting comprehensive credentialing and health requirements.
