Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work every other week (EOW)
• Holidays: rotating schedule with regular staff
• Required experience in Labor & Delivery, specifically high-risk labor and delivery
• Circulator experience for cesarean deliveries required
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles if needed

Required Credentials and Certifications

Licenses & Verification

• Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• Driver’s License/State ID (must be current and match address on file)

Certifications (Must be current and AHA approved where applicable)

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Ascension Fetal Monitoring (if not covered on competency exam, must have AWHONN, Relias, or equivalent within past 2 years)
• Tdap (valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted)

Health Requirements

• MMR: documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Varicella: documented proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted)
• Influenza vaccine during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted but mask required
• Hepatitis B: vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Fit Test: required for all travelers, preferred prior to start, updated annually
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with annual TB questionnaire
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually

Onboarding and Competency Requirements

• Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score; updated yearly
• Ascension Specialty Exam: minimum 80% or national benchmark; updated every 3 years
• Ascension Epic Test-Out: Epic training and test results with signed attestation
• Ascension Skills Checklist: clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start; updated annually
• Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation (6-hour pre-hire training)
• Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
• Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules (for non-allied positions)
• Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
• Two professional references prior to first assignment
• Criminal background check including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender registry, updated annually
• Employment verification for past 7 years, updated annually
• Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
