Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Job Requirements & Details

• Minimum 1 year pediatric LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care) experience required
• Ventilator experience not required
• Every Other Week (EOW) schedule
• Up to 3 weekends in a six-week period
• First-time travelers and local candidates welcome
• Iowa or Compact nursing license required

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS (Basic Life Support), preferably from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred but not required

Compliance & Documentation

• Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form required prior to start
• Background checks including 7-year SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide, Sex Offender, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG (updated annually)
• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam with minimum 80% passing score (or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Competency Exam with minimum 80% passing score (or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Child and Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter training (2-hour online course, certificates required)
• Contractor Confidentiality Agreement must be signed prior to start
• Iowa Single Contact Repository (SING) Check must be completed within 30 days of assignment start (criminal, dependent adult, child abuse, sex offender search)

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Fit Mask (N95) within the last year, renewed annually
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or Tspot) within 1 year; if past positive, negative chest x-ray within 1 year plus annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, 2 vaccines, or history of chickenpox)
• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start
• Seasonal Flu Vaccine highly recommended (declination allowed with masking in patient care areas)
• Seasonal COVID Vaccine highly recommended (declination allowed with masking in patient care areas)

References & Skills

• 2 professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles
• 1 professional reference required for per diem non-acute care roles
• Skills checklist required annually
