Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatrics Office Nurse
Location: Peterborough, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 26 weeks (will accept 13 weeks, prefers 26 weeks)

Job Summary
The Pediatrics Office Nurse (RN) independently prescribes and coordinates professional nursing care for assigned patients within accepted nursing practice, medical direction, and hospital policies. Utilizes the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care. Teaches and directs clinical support staff (LPNs and Medical Assistants) in delegated tasks related to therapeutic care plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to develop individualized patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records; promptly report changes or concerns.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following hospital policies and protocols.
- Educate patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and preventive care.
- Offer emotional support and advocate for patients’ rights to ensure compassionate care.
- Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with medical advancements and best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills Required
- Triage / Telephone experience (approximately 80% of time spent on phone with patients).
- Experience with all age groups; Pediatric experience is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients regarding medication, medical history, and diagnosis.
- Preferred experience in Critical Access Hospitals.
- Clinic or Medical Office experience preferred.
Certification & Licensing Requirements
- Current New Hampshire RN license (or compact license accepted).
- BLS (AHA) certification required.
- Facility will not pend licenses or certifications.

- Skills checklist current to within 1 year, relevant to specialty.
- One supervisory signed reference from the past two years of employment.
- Cover page if applicable (not required).
- License and certifications as noted above.
