Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Job Details

  • Position: CT Technologist
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Shift: 4x10 hour days, Sunday through Wednesday
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
  • First Timers Accepted: Yes
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ARRT-R (Radiography)
    • ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography)
  • Skills: As per Unit Director (UD) requirements
  • On-Call: Yes, 2-3 nights per week (low volume)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every Sunday
  • Floating: May be asked to float within scope to Providence Alaska Medical Center
  • Block Schedule Accommodation: Yes
  • Locals Accepted: No (candidate’s permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 70 hours per 2 weeks; may be called off for 1 shift per 2 weeks

  • Beds: 46 Inpatient Rehabilitation, 10 LTAC/ICU (Total 56 staffed beds)

  • Work Environment: Low volume setting
  • Equipment:
    • CT: GE 16 slice scanner
    • X-ray: Siemens portable and GE C-arm for MBS studies
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Scrub Color: Any
  • Parking: Free

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background Checks:
    • Must be within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Includes SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Nationwide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if applicable), and international background if applicable
    • Returning candidates with less than 30-day gap may not require new background check
  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • State License verification as applicable
    • NURSYS verification for RNs
    • Other certifications as required by UD or clinical track (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification)
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start
    • Fit mask test (annual, travel only)
    • Immunizations: TDAP, MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccine (seasonal), COVID-19 vaccine or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • Drug screen: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Respirator safety clearance (travel only)
  • References:
    • Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within last 3 years (6 months for CNAs)
  • Employment Application:
    • Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
  • Skills Checklists:
    • Annual updates required for applicable units
  • Radiation Badge: Issued by facility if applicable

Training & Competency Requirements

  • Competency Exams: Required as applicable by profession/specialty
  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency: Required as applicable
  • Color Blind Testing: May be required on a unit basis
  • Epic Training: Completion of Epic modules required prior to or shortly after start (specific to Providence system)
  • WorkRamp Modules:
    • Mandatory pre-start and annual regulatory training modules for all caregivers except certain non-clinical roles
    • Specialty-specific modules required for ER, L&D, leadership roles, and others as applicable
    • Modules assigned based on region, profession, and specialty

Additional Notes

  • Floating Policy: Acknowledgement required; may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
  • Locals: Candidates must live at least 50 miles away from the facility to qualify
  • Schedule: 4 days on, 3 days off; weekend work every Sunday; on-call nights 2-3 times per week
  • Low Volume Setting: May require flexibility to cover multiple locations and modalities (CT and X-ray)

This position is ideal for CT Technologists with required certifications and at least 1 year of experience who are open to travel assignments in a rehabilitation hospital setting with a flexible schedule and floating responsibilities.
