Description
Radiologic Technologist – CT (Travel/Contract)
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Day/Evening shifts, 8 hours each
- Primarily first shift with start times between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM
- Weekend rotation and associated on-call duties
- May be assigned other shifts based on operational needs
- Work at a minimum of two locations within the organization
- Floating required; may work in multiple units or locations depending on staffing needs
Experience & Education Requirements
- Minimum 2 years clinical CT imaging experience
- Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology (minimum)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred
Licensure & Certifications
- Wisconsin State Licensed Radiographer required
- ARRT Registries of Radiography (R) AND (CT) required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications may be required depending on unit
- National certification/verification required within 30 days of start and upon expiration (as applicable)
Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine and advanced CT imaging procedures using radiographic equipment, computers, and detectors
- Prepare imaging rooms according to examination requirements, including isolation precautions
- Provide basic maintenance and repairs of equipment
- Participate in quality assurance activities
- Troubleshoot image processing and archiving system issues
- Collaborate with staff to prioritize and organize schedules and triage procedures
Facility Requirements
- Traveler’s permanent address must be within 50 miles of the primary work site
- Floating is mandatory; shifts may be reassigned to other departments if primary department needs change
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Background Checks
- Comprehensive background check within 90 days prior to start, including SSN trace, county, nationwide, and sex offender searches
- Monthly monitoring through workforce monitoring systems
- Education verification or acceptable diploma/transcript required
- Wisconsin Caregiver Screening required within 90 days of start
Health & Immunization
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
- Required vaccinations or documented immunity for:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (or declination form if declining)
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption annually
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination if working in Microbiology
- Drug screening required for clinical candidates (per Vaya standard)
Testing & Competency Exams
- Pass/fail telemetry testing (adult and pediatric) required for applicable units, with remediation and retake policies
- Medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Color blindness testing for laboratory or dialysis roles (if applicable)
Facility-Specific Documents
- Photo for badge (passport-style, no headwear except religious/medical)
- Signed orientation safety manual acknowledgment
- Signed acknowledgment of pass/fail testing (if applicable)
- Auto insurance proof if driving is required for the position
Additional Notes
- Candidates must comply with all facility-specific policies and credentialing requirements
- Floating and multi-location assignments are expected and part of the contract
- Strict adherence to certification renewal deadlines and testing requirements is mandatory to continue working
