Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule Options:
    • 2 shifts of 12 hours and 2 shifts of 8 hours, or
    • 5 shifts of 8 hours
  • Shift Times: Variable (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM or 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM)
  • Flexibility: Required to fill in on other shifts as needed
  • Holidays: Required to work as needed

Required Experience & Certifications

  • Equipment Experience: Siemens CT scanner
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • AART (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
    • Ohio State License

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including:
    • Social Security trace
    • Counties lived/worked
    • Nationwide search
    • Sex offender registry
    • Motor Vehicle Record (if driving is part of the job)
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting required prior to start (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
  • Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending
  • Monthly monitoring of EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG databases
  • Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
  • High school diploma or equivalent required (for RRTs)
  • Background acknowledgement form and dress code/hand hygiene policy must be reviewed and signed

Certifications & Competencies

  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – required for certain units
    • BLS – AHA only, no letter of completion accepted
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – required for ER and related units
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required for Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, OB
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – special expiration rules apply
    • Tech Certification Verification (national) – required within 30 days of start
    • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement – required annually
    • State License Verification – required within 30 days of start
    • NURSYS Verification (for RNs, LPN/LVNs, APs)
    • NIH Stroke Certification – required for most ICU, PCU, ED, and Brain & Spine units
  • Competencies:
    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (Aya candidates only)
    • Unit-specific competency exams
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required annually for RNs (with remediation process if failed)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or TB questionnaire in lieu)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster rules
  • Hepatitis B – titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption allowed with documentation)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (new travelers cannot start with pending drug screen)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leader)
  • Employment application required (nursing candidates must include education)
  • Skills checklist required
  • Compliance with facility-specific policies including dress code, hand hygiene, fraud/waste/abuse training, and ethics policies
