Description
Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1900-0730)
- Call once every 6-10 weeks
- Works every third weekend

Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT scans (abdomen, pelvis, chest, head/neck, spine, musculoskeletal, brain perfusion)
- Operate CT equipment ensuring high-quality images
- Support patient comfort and safety during procedures
- Maintain accurate records and comply with regulatory guidelines
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of CT technologist experience
- BLS and ARRT certifications required
- Advanced ARRT certification preferred
- Experience with Siemens CT equipment and Epic charting system
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and on-call
- Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure
Certifications & Compliance
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable)
- ARRT certification required; advanced ARRT preferred
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, EFM certifications may be required depending on unit
- State License verification within 30 days of start
- Annual acknowledgment of Orientation Safety Manual
- NIH Stroke Certification may be required for ICU, PCU, ED, Brain & Spine units
- Competency exams including unit-specific and Dysrhythmia/EKG exam required for RNs (if applicable)
Background & Screening Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
- Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
- Transcript or diploma verification required (including foreign education)
- Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, benzodiazepines, THC, cocaine, opiates, etc.)
- References: 2 professional references required, at least one from a manager or formal leader
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire required annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series or signed declination
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemptions reviewed
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (mask required if declining during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Additional Facility-Specific Policies
- Dress code and hand hygiene policy must be reviewed and signed
- Confidential Fraud, Waste, Abuse, and Compliance Reporting training and acknowledgment required
- Ethics and compliance policies must be reviewed and acknowledged annually
- Proof of fingerprint completion required for subcontractors
- Background acknowledgment form required for subcontractors
Summary
This is a 13-week travel contract for an experienced CT Technologist in a Level I trauma center with a fast-paced emergency room environment. The role requires strong technical skills, certifications, and compliance with extensive background checks and health documentation. The schedule includes night shifts, call rotation, and weekend work.
