Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Facility: Hospital in Greensboro, NC (Cardiac Tele Unit Focus)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule

  • 3x12 hour shifts, nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holidays as needed
  • Floating required as needed

Experience & Skills Required

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
  • Cardiac Telemetry experience required
  • Focus on cardiac patients: Congestive Heart Failure, rule-out myocardial infarction, Acute Coronary Syndrome, Arrhythmias
  • Secondary focus on respiratory issues: COPD, pneumonia
  • Patient diagnoses commonly seen: Heart Failure, Respiratory Failure, NSTEMI, COPD, Pneumonia

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Pass/Fail EKG exam required for all RNs (must score 82% or higher, 2 attempts allowed)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • State RN License verification (primary source within 30 days of start)
  • NURSYS verification within 60 days of start
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification for Cardiac Progressive Care and ER RNs)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (required for badge)
  • Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including aliases, national criminal search, federal court, sex offender registry, education verification
  • Foreign equivalency evaluation if education obtained outside the U.S.
  • Transcript/Diploma for highest education (if applicable)
  • Education verification by a 3rd party (Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required)
  • High School Diploma/GED verification as applicable
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult vaccine proof required)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or vaccination proof
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination proof
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (required annually)
    • COVID-19 vaccination or declination accepted
  • Fit mask test (N95) completed within current calendar year and updated annually (exceptions apply)
  • Physical exam (if applicable)

Testing & Competencies

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (80% passing score)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail, 82% passing score)
  • Color blindness testing (as applicable)
  • Pass/Fail testing for EPIC or Dysrhythmia/EKG required for all RNs except Behavioral Health and Case Managers

Additional Requirements

  • Floating policy acknowledgment (required for all agency staff)
  • Contractor equipment acknowledgment form
  • Badge photo meeting strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
  • Health history form completion prior to clearance
  • Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
  • Verification of all employment within last 5 years through third party
  • Two supervisory references required (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)

Important Notes

  • Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Compliance deadlines are strict; all documentation must be completed on time
  • Candidates must be aware of and agree to pass/fail testing requirements
  • Floating is mandatory as needed
  • First-time travelers are welcome
