Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract) - Cleveland, Ohio
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Cleveland, Ohio
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; 8:30 AM - 9:00 PM)
- Schedule: On-call rotation and every other weekend
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Experience & Licensing Requirements
- Minimum of 18 months recent permanent Dialysis experience prior to travel assignment
- Must hold a permanent Ohio nursing license or a license from a compact state
- Current AHA BLS & ACLS certifications required
References
- One recent reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty is required for submission
- Two references from employment within one year of start are required (Manager, ANM, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director; co-worker references not accepted)
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA only (Instructor or Provider); RQI acceptable
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA only (Instructor or Provider); RQI acceptable
- Other certifications may be required depending on specialty area (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC) but not mandatory for this dialysis role
Background Checks & Compliance
- Background check required prior to start; must be updated annually and after breaks in service of 2+ months
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start; must be updated annually
- Fingerprints must be completed under code 4723.09 (Nursing)
- Candidates can start with fingerprint results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
- Facility will conduct their own fingerprinting in addition to agency process
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (required for new candidates signing after 4/11/2025)
- Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months of start, updated annually
- Tdap vaccine every 10 years (religious/medical exemptions reviewed case-by-case; declinations not accepted)
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD or QGold/TSPOT) or chest X-ray if history of positive TB, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
- Hepatitis B vaccination or titer or declination documentation required
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer required; booster if negative or equivocal
- Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/31 - 03/31); declinations not accepted
- Eye exam required within 1 year of start for new candidates signing after 4/11/2025
Training & Orientation
- Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start is mandatory
- Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; video must be watched before test
- SafeMedicate preparation materials provided; pass/fail EKG and medication testing required onsite during orientation
- Unit-specific competency exams required within 12 months of start and updated annually
- Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing required
Employment History & Documentation
- Employment application must include 3 years prior work history, with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar specialty
- Skills checklist required annually
- State license primary source verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start for new and extension contracts
