Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract Assignment

Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 8 weeks (interpreted as 8 weeks)
Shift: Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM with 30-minute lunch)

• Preference for candidates interested in 48-hour weeks; 36-hour weeks considered

Job Description

• Seeking experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses for travel assignments starting December 15, 2025
• Open to first-time travelers with at least 2 years of recent ED experience in a large Emergency Department
• Work in a dynamic, full-spectrum Emergency Department serving all ages, including a locked behavioral health unit (12 beds)
• Fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Key Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license or eligibility for emergency MA license
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, CPI (CPI training provided onsite)
• Minimum 2 years recent Emergency Department RN experience
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment (first-time travelers considered if clearly indicated)

Unit Details

• Patient population: All ages (birth through end of life), predominantly adults
• Occasional pediatric patients; nearby Level 1 pediatric trauma center
• Includes locked behavioral health unit with 12-bed capacity
• High-acuity, fast-paced environment

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS, BLS, PALS (AHA only) required
• CPI required for ER; training available onsite
• TNCC and ENPC preferred for ER placements
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required before orientation
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for ED RNs
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Current driver’s license or government-issued photo ID
• Background checks including MA statewide iCORI clearance, SSN trace, criminal searches, and others as required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:

  • Tdap
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 1 year
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30)
• COVID-19 vaccination or signed declination preferred

Additional Information

• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail testing required; failure twice may result in contract cancellation
• Confidentiality agreement required
• References: 2 professional references for travel or acute care positions within 2 years
