Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract Assignment

Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 8 weeks (approximately 2 months)
Shift: Night shift, primarily 4x12 hour shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM with 30-minute lunch)

• Preference for candidates interested in 48-hour shifts; 36-hour shifts may be considered

Job Description

• Seeking experienced ER Registered Nurses for a dynamic, full-spectrum Emergency Department
• The ED serves patients of all ages, including a locked behavioral health unit (12-bed capacity)

Key Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license or eligibility for emergency MA license
• ACLS, BLS, CPI, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment (first-time travelers with 2 years ED experience may be considered)
• CPI training can be provided onsite

Unit Details

• Patient population: All ages (birth through end of life), predominantly adults
• Occasional pediatric patients; nearby Level 1 pediatric trauma center
• Includes a locked behavioral health unit
• High-acuity, fast-paced environment

Certifications & Competencies Required

• ACLS (AHA only)
• BLS (AHA only)
• PALS (AHA only)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – required for ER, can be completed onsite
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) before orientation (failure after two attempts may result in contract cancellation)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias Advanced for ED RNs)
• TNCC and ENPC preferred but not required

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Current physical exam within 1 year of start
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Tdap vaccine or signed declination
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (required during flu season: Oct 1 - Apr 30)
• COVID-19 vaccination or signed declination (including booster)
• 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
• Background checks including MA statewide iCORI clearance and other standard screenings

Additional Notes

• Candidates must submit a current government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
• Confidentiality agreement and health requirements must be completed prior to start
• Two professional references required (within 2 years of start)
