Travel RN Opportunity – Telemetry Unit
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Facility Type: Surgical Floor (Telemetry Unit)
Position Details
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry Specialty
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week (must be specified on submission)
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility
- Call Requirements: None
- Employment Type: Travel
Licensure & Certifications
- Required:
- Current RN License eligible or active in Missouri
- BLS (American Heart Association only)
- 4 Trauma credits (must have or complete within first 2 weeks)
- NIHSS (must obtain prior to start if not submitted)
- Preferred:
- ACLS (American Heart Association only)
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 year telemetry experience (inpatient only)
- Competence in drug titration required
- Preferred experience with trauma patients (inpatient only)
Unit Information
- Beds: 32
- Patient Ratios:
- Days: 1:5 to 1:6
- Nights: 1:6 to 1:8 (estimates)
- Equipment: Alaris pumps, telemetry, lift equipment
- EMR System: EPIC
- Patient Population: Cardiac and Medical-Surgical patients
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care effectiveness
- Float on a rotational basis within the unit
- Work within Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
Physical & Working Conditions
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- May work varying schedules and shifts based on patient care needs
- Exposure to blood and body fluids (high risk)
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, crawling
Dress Code
- Scrubs: Black
- Unacceptable attire: Torn clothes, open-toed shoes, not wearing scrubs
Additional Notes
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required from November 1 to April 1 (no declinations accepted)
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
- Flexible scheduling options available but must be indicated on submission
- Time off requests (RTO) must be made on the back end of the assignment; no RTO in the first week
- One holiday RTO allowed per assignment
