  • IMC patients include those on non-titrating drips and post-op patients.
• Residency Restriction: Candidates residing in certain Texas counties (e.g., Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, etc.) are not eligible.

• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• State License Verification (Primary source online verification)
• NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP)

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Color Blind Testing (online)
• Competency Exam (minimum 80% or Angoff score)
• Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors; annual completion required)
• Unit Specific Skills Checklist (annual)

Background and Documentation Requirements

• 7-year Background Check (updated annually) including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire
• Education Verification (highest level required)
• Work History Verification (7 years)
• Employment Application/Resume
• References (internal requirement; not mandatory for clearance)
• Photo for badge (clear headshot)

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam within 12 months of start
• Fit Mask Test within 1 year (annual renewal required)
• Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with follow-up requirements for positive results)
• TB Questionnaire (within 90 days for positive TB results; annual renewal)
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (or declination)
  • Varicella (or documented history)
• Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• COVID-19 Vaccination (Dose 1 and fully vaccinated) or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
• COVID-19 and Flu Vaccine Exemption Attestations (if applicable)

Additional Notes

• Fingerprinting is required for New Mexico placements only (not applicable here).
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance required.
• Candidates must be prepared to float between med-surg and IMC units.
• Travel nurses must meet all documentation and credentialing requirements prior to start.

This position is ideal for experienced travel nurses comfortable with night shifts, floating between units, and meeting comprehensive credentialing and health requirements.
