Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Start Date: ASAP (Available start dates: 12/15, 12/29, 1/12)
• Shift: Weekends (Friday to Sunday), 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required Experience: Minimum 2 years
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale Certification)
• Preferred Certifications: TNCSS, TNS
• State License: Wisconsin or Compact License accepted
• Local Candidates: Accepted within 50 miles at a lower rate

Compliance & Credentialing Requirements

Background Checks

• 7-year background check required within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Must include SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide sex offender check
• Wisconsin Caregiver Screening search required (agency to run for subcontractors)

Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, PALS must be current and from ARC or AHA (Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable)
• NIH Stroke Certification required for ICU, IMC/IMCU, inpatient, Med Surg, Step Down RN roles; must be renewed annually

Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
• Color Blind Testing required for dialysis/kidney center roles
• Competency exams as applicable to specialty

Facility Specific Documents

• Photo for badge (passport style, shoulders up, no filters)
• Compliance checklist to be completed by agency representative
• Confidentiality statement to be signed prior to start
• Flu vaccine exemption forms (religious or medical) if applicable
• Dosimeter request form required for Imaging Department only (not for MRI Tech)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually for non-clinical)
• Negative QGold TB test within 1 year (no TSpot/PPD accepted); negative chest X-ray within 60 days if applicable
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 14 days before start (instant acceptable)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct-Mar)

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references verified within 2 years of start (for inpatient RNs, one must be from most recent acute care assignment with performance comments)
• Annual skills checklist per agency standards
