Job Opportunity: CT Scan Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: CT Scan Tech
- Shift: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (10:00 AM - 8:30 PM)
- Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
- Floating: Required to float within facility and to sister facilities as needed, including holiday rotation
- On-call: Yes, on-call rotation with staff
- Daily Caseload: Varies by shift and location
Facility Highlights
- Teaching Hospital with Magnet status

- Total Staffed Beds: 865
- Charting System: Epic
- Scrub Color: Teal top and black bottom
- Parking: Nights and weekends only, one-time $20 parking pass
Required Experience & Certifications
- Minimum 6 months experience in Level 1 Trauma required; 1 year experience preferred
- Experience with PIV and Siemens equipment preferred
- Radiation badge must be supplied by the agency (facility does not provide)
- Certifications required at start:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- ARRT RT (R) (CT)
- SCRQSA (R) (CT)
- State license must be in hand at time of start (no pending licenses accepted)
- First-time travelers accepted if they have prior experience
Licensing & Verification
- South Carolina RN license or appropriate state license required
- Primary source verification of license required
- NURSYS verification required for RNs and LPNs/LVNs
- All licensure hits must be approved by facility
- Walk-through (temporary) license option available for SC RN license under certain conditions
Compliance & Background Checks
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Required background searches include: SSN Trace, County, Statewide, Sex Offender Registry, National Criminal, FACIS 3
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if needed
Health & Safety Requirements
- Initial physical exam and annual updates required
- Fit test for N95 mask (specific models) within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form required
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start; annual TB questionnaire required
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
Facility Specific Requirements
- Completion of orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge required before start
- Upload COVID and flu vaccine documentation into facility system
- Radiation badge process managed by agency; candidates cannot start without badge
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required as applicable
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references required
- Employment application must include all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
Additional Notes
- Radius rule: 60 miles; locals accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Floating within scope of practice is required to meet facility needs
