Required Certifications

    • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
    • NIH Stroke Certification (required for all nurses)
  • Preferred:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or MAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) if applicable

  • Telemetry monitoring and reading cardiac rhythms
  • Administer cardiac medications and drips (no titration)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Background Checks & Verifications

  • Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide and nationwide checks)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (quarterly)
  • Education verification of highest nursing degree (must be completed before start)
  • State-specific searches and registries as applicable (Missouri and Illinois)
  • Fingerprinting required for assignments in Illinois long-term care or rehab units

Licenses & Certifications

  • Primary source verification of professional nursing license (Missouri licenses verified via NURSYS)
  • IV Certification required for LPN/LVNs with Missouri licenses
  • Annual renewal or as specified for certifications like NIH Stroke, CPI, ACLS, BLS

Health Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask testing (N95 required, PAPR not available)
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required every 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (2 negative PPDs or equivalent)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
  • Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be current throughout assignment

  • HIPAA Acknowledgement (annual)
  • Latex Allergy Questionnaire (annual)
  • Confidentiality Form (annual)
  • Regulatory Compliance Education (annual, completed via WorkRamp)
  • TB Questionnaire (annual)
  • Hand Hygiene, Fingernail, and Dress Code Policies (must review and sign prior to start)
  • Orientation Modules (required for all RNs and LVNs, approx. 16 hours, time sensitive)
  • Badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions)

  • Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
  • Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required and must be current

  • Locals within 75 miles not accepted for this travel position
