Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Conyers, Georgia
Facility: Hospital within Piedmont Healthcare system
Unit Details
- Patient diagnoses include Sepsis, ARDS, CHF, Post STEMI, and Vascular cases
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
- Call: None
- Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Minimum Experience: 2 years (first-time travelers accepted)
Contract Length
- 15 weeks
Work Requirements
- Must work major holidays if they fall during assignment:
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving/Black Friday
- Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
- New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Full compliance with onboarding and credentialing required to start on time
- Orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Locals accepted at same rate
Required Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in critical care and related specialties
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for most nursing roles
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RNs in PACU, Pre-op, Endo, CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), and ER
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required if applicable
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required)
- State License: Must be valid and verified within 30 days prior to start (Georgia license required)
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification within 30 days prior to start
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for RNs and LVNs by Aya
- Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed
- Competency Exam: Required for Nursing and Allied by Aya only
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for Telemetry, ICU, ER, and related units; up to 3 attempts allowed
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including:
- County and national criminal searches
- Sex offender registry
- Education verification
- Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable if close to start date
- Physical exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
- TB testing: Negative PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; TB questionnaire required annually
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B: Series, antibody titer, or signed declination required
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
Additional Requirements
- References: 2 clinical references required by Aya
- Skills checklist: Must be updated within 12 months
- Work history verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
- Must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy
Notes
- Manager review of candidate profile and schedule fit occurs within 48 hours after confirmation
- Maximum Return to Office (RTO) time is 7 days
- If compliance is not met on time, start date may be pushed back by 2 weeks due to orientation scheduling
This position offers a dynamic clinical environment with a variety of acute care diagnoses and requires strong clinical skills, certifications, and compliance with facility and Aya staffing policies.
