Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR RN)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Day shift: 06:30 AM – 07:00 PM
- Evening shift: 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM
- On Call/Weekend Requirements:
- 6 calls per 6-week schedule
- One weekend or holiday per 6-week schedule
- Float Requirements:
- If no cardiac cases, float to general surgery
Requirements
- DC RN Licensure (Pending DC license accepted if applied; license must be obtained prior to start)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience, including:
- Circulating experience
- Experience in Level 1 trauma
- Completion of at least 1 prior travel assignment
- Flu vaccine required (mandatory for all employees)
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS
- PALS (only if working in ED or Pediatrics; not required for this position)
- NRP, TNCC, EFM as required by unit description
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for cardiac and critical care specialties; must meet specific scoring criteria)
- Annual Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- State License verification prior to start
Background & Compliance Checks
- Criminal Background Check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start and monthly thereafter
- Education verification of highest degree required by position
- Drug Screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana) and updated annually
- I9/E-Verify attestation required
- References: Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps
Health & Safety Requirements
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed)
- Immunizations and documentation required:
- Flu vaccine (or approved medical/religious exemption) for current flu season
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year, updated annually)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer documentation
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
Additional Information
- Parking available on campus (no shuttle needed after evening shifts)
- Facility-specific modules (SITELS) must be completed prior to start date
- Photo for badge required (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
