Registered Nurse - Pre/Post Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Medford, Massachusetts
Setting: Ambulatory Surgery Center
Shift: Monday to Friday, 1st shift

Job Summary

• Role involves providing pre-operative and post-operative nursing care at an Ambulatory Surgery Center.
• Workdays are Monday through Friday on the first shift.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least 2 years of nursing education from an accredited School of Nursing required to be eligible for RN licensure.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Ambulatory Surgery, Outpatient Surgery, Recovery Room, or Medical/Surgical Nursing.

Certifications

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred or must be obtained within 6 months of request.

Contract Length

• 10 weeks

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID).
• Emergency Contact Form prior to start.
• Background checks including 7-year search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG (updated annually).
• Verification of state nursing license and NURSYS verification prior to start.
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
• Passport-style photo for badge.
• Facility-specific forms including flu vaccination or exemption forms.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Respirator Fit Test (N95) within last 12 months with OSHA Respiratory Form.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (with specific protocols for past positives).
• Immunization or titer proof for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)
• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31).
• Respiratory Safety Clearance including OSHA questionnaire.
• Two professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years).

Additional Notes

• Annual renewal of certain certifications and background checks is required.
• Some certifications and documents must be uploaded and verified prior to start.
• Compliance with facility-specific health and safety protocols is mandatory.
