Job Details
- Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, Days (Wednesday-Saturday)
- Shift Hours: 07:00 - 17:30
- Weekend Requirement: Normal Saturday shift
- On-call: None
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- License: Oregon State License required or pending (proof of application/fingerprints required)
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- CCM (Case Management Certification) preferred
- Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs; refusal to float may result in contract cancellation
- Locals: Not accepted if living within 50 miles of any Legacy facility
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions:
- Finalized RTO must be included with submission
- No RTO within first week of start date
- No more than 7 days of RTO per assignment
- Guaranteed Hours: Contracted hours
- Low Census Cancellation: Must cancel 1.5 hours before shift start; mandatory cancellation allowed one shift per two-week pay period without penalty
- Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
- Facility Characteristics: Teaching hospital, Level I Trauma Center
- Total Staffed Beds: 554
- Charting System: Epic
- Parking: Free in any unrestricted space
Special Requirements
- Travelers must complete any assigned education within one week of assignment.
Scrub Color Guidelines
- Case Managers: scrubs or business casual
- X-Ray Tech/OR/IR/Cath Lab/PACU: scrubs provided
- All other units/specialties: Any color except all black, dark green, and camo
Background Checks & Compliance
- Criminal background check required (7-year search including SSN trace, nationwide sex offender, county, federal, FACIS L3, and international if applicable)
- Pending background checks may be allowed on a case-by-case basis
- Transcript/diploma required for certain roles (e.g., RRT)
- State-specific searches required for Washington facilities (WATCH search)
Certifications (may be required depending on unit)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required for ER and pediatric units
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required for Labor & Delivery RNs
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Required for ER
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - Required for Labor & Delivery
- NIH Stroke Certification - Annual requirement unless valid for 2 years
- Tech Certification Verification - Primary source verification required if applicable
- State License Verification - Primary source verification required
Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for RNs and LVNs/LPNs
- Competency Exam required for all clinical candidates
Facility-Specific Documents
- Must review Legacy Health MSP policies and procedures prior to start
- Floating Acknowledgement form must be signed
- Compliance checklist must be completed
Health Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start (not required annually)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination (Td not accepted)
- Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 1 year or negative chest x-ray if previously positive
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Immunity or vaccination documentation for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (immune titer and 3-dose vaccine series or signed declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required annually (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID vaccination documentation or declination required
- Respirator safety clearance required annually unless no patient interaction
References
- Two professional references required (supervisory or above, charge nurse accepted) within 3 years of start date
