Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: New Haven, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Thursday, Friday, every other weekend)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Start Date: ASAP
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years (Siemens experience required)
- First-time Travelers Accepted: Yes
- Floating Required: Yes, to sister facilities

Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment
Background Checks & Verifications
- 7-year criminal background check (must be updated annually)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- Education verification including foreign equivalency if applicable
- State license verification (CT license application required within 72 hours of start)
- NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 85%)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates starting 8/2/2024 or later; must score 80%)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for telemetry, MS/Tele, ER, all ICU units)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start (must be updated annually)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination highly preferred for certain specialties
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- 10 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/1 - 3/31)
- COVID vaccine series preferred

- Patient Transportation with Oxygen Education
- Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment Training
- Pyxis ES MedStation Modules
- Baxter Pump Interoperability Training
- Patient Bedside Rounding
- Ventricular Assist Device Awareness
- AME Blood Administration Module (annual update required)
- New Employee Orientation Module
- 21st Century Cures Act Module (required for CT Tech)
- ED Handbook (for ED/ER RNs only)
- eCart Training Module (for RNs, with some exceptions)
- Chaperone Policy Training (required for RNs and Allied Health)
- EMU Caring Course (required for EEG Techs)
- EPIC Testing (required for RNs with Epic experience)
- Vaccination Booster Medical Exemption (if applicable)
Employment History & Documentation
- 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days
- Work history verification required for all start dates on/after 8/2/2024
- Skills checklist required within 12 months of start
- Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for CT Tech and related specialties
Additional Notes
- Siemens CT experience is mandatory for this role.
- Floating to sister facilities is required.
- First-time travel healthcare workers are welcome to apply.
- Background checks and verifications must be completed and approved prior to start.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a Level I Trauma Center with a large acute care facility using Epic charting. The role requires strong technical skills, certifications, and compliance with extensive health and safety protocols.
