Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RNFA) - Travel/Contract
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri

Job Details
- Start Date: 2-3 months from signing (due to privileging process)
- Shift: Days
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 during day shifts
- Call Requirements:
- Call 1 day per week
- Call 1 weekend every 8th weekend
- Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend every 8 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Local Radius Rule: 75 miles (locals not accepted)
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: 7 days every 13 weeks
Experience & Skills Required
- Years of Experience:
- Minimum 5 years as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 3 years specifically as an RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant)
- Specialty Experience:
- Experience in orthopedic, general, and spine surgery
- Prior Travel Experience: Not accepted for first-timers (prior travel experience required)
- Skills Required:
- Acute inpatient operating room (OR) experience
- Must be a certified RNFA (CSFA, SFA, etc. NOT accepted)
- Call: Required as noted above
Certifications & Licenses
- Required:
- Current RN license
- RNFA certification (mandatory)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) preferred
- Additional Certifications (may be required depending on unit):
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- CPI or MAB (Crisis Prevention Institute or Management of Assaultive Behavior) if applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for all nurses)
- License Verification:
- Primary source verification of professional license required
- Missouri licenses verified via NURSYS
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal background check within 6 months of start (7-year search including statewide and nationwide checks)
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification of highest nursing degree required
- State-specific background checks (Missouri Highway Patrol, Family Care Safety Registry, etc.)
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include comprehensive panel (amphetamines, opiates, cocaine, etc.)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframe
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
- Flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- HIPAA Acknowledgement, Latex Allergy Questionnaire, Confidentiality Form, and other facility-specific compliance documents must be completed prior to start
- Orientation modules (approx. 16 hours) required and must be completed before start
Additional Requirements
- Must complete BJC privileging process before starting on unit
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required and must be updated annually
- References: Two professional references required; RNFAs must provide additional references for privileging
- Adherence to facility policies including dress code, hand hygiene, fingernail policy, and others
