Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Roanoke, Virginia

Contract Length: 13 weeks (with option to extend up to 52 weeks)
Job Description
- Position: Resource Pool RN covering ICU and PCU units
- Start: ASAP preferred
- Schedule: 3x12 hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), including holiday coverage
- Float Requirement: Must be comfortable working all ICU and PCU units; may be floated every 4 hours based on hospital needs
- Patient Ratios:
- ICU: 2:1
- PCU: 5:1
- Experience: Large Level 1/Level 2 ICU experience required
- Electronic Medical Record: EPIC experience required
- Holiday Time Off (RTO): Christmas time off requests cannot be approved
Required Qualifications
- Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years of ICU experience (Large L1/L2 ICU experience required)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- Must be comfortable working across multiple ICU and PCU units
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I9 or attestation
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID (address must be more than 100 miles from facility to avoid cancellation)
- E-Verify or attestation
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start (covering all locations lived/worked)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification of highest earned degree (transcript/diploma required)
- State license primary source verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification for RNs within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming freedom from communicable diseases
- Fit test within 1 year of start, updated annually (not required for students)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Flu vaccination or declination form during flu season
- Photo for badge (professional, plain background)
- Completion of new hire paperwork and compliance checklists prior to start
- Orientation manual review (not required for inpatient RNs)
Additional Requirements
- 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
- Complete application/resume required
- Annual skills checklist update
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Core competency exams and HIPAA acknowledgment for subcontractors
Local Traveler Rules
- Eligibility based on distance from address on driver’s license:
- 50-99.9 miles: Eligible for one 13-week assignment, no extension
- 0-49.9 miles: Eligible for one 13-week assignment, no extension, local pay rate applies
