Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: North Adams, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Circulating OR Registered Nurse
• Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• No weekends, holidays, or on-call required
• Endoscopy experience required
• Scrub experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Must be willing to float to other nearby facilities as needed

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (OR)
• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Certifications & Licenses

• Current Massachusetts RN license required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) through AHA or Red Cross preferred/required for certain units
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) required for RNFA roles
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred but not required for ICU
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred for ER but not required

Required Competencies & Testing

• Pass/Fail Testing on EKG/Medication on first day of orientation
• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
• Color Blind Testing (Ishihara test for certain units)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam for MS/Tele units

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Fit testing with 3M N95 Model 1860 mask required
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test (QuantiFERON Gold or Tspot) within 6 months of start or 2-step PPD skin test
• Immunity or vaccination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer required; declination accepted only with low titer and specific form)
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (no instant drug screens)
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (Oct-May); exemptions require facility approval
• COVID-19 vaccination required with up-to-date booster; medical or religious exemptions require facility approval

Background & Documentation

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Emergency contact form required prior to start
• CORI release (criminal background check) required
• Standard background checks including 7-year search of locations lived/worked/school
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry Search required for all candidates in MA
• Documentation of 2 recent professional work references required

Facility Specific Notes

• Scrub color: Any color acceptable; scrubs provided for OR
• Flu and COVID-19 exemption forms must be completed and approved if applicable
• Mask wearing required if flu vaccine is declined without approved exemption
