Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Stockbridge, Georgia
Contract Length: 20 weeks
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- 1st time travelers accepted
- No explicit prior travel experience required
Patient Population
- Neonates to Geriatrics
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification
Clinical & Work Environment
- Level 3 trauma center (in process)
- Primary stroke, CHF, STEMI, chest pain center
- Patient ratio: 1:4
- Unit size: 59 rooms, average 250 visits per day
- Unit systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
Schedule & Work Conditions
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes
- Call: None
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (see below)
- New Year’s Eve and Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving/Black Friday
- Christmas Eve and Day
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time
- Non-compliance results in 2-week push back due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Number of Non-Billable Orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 19 hours for 19-week assignment)
Required Documents & Checks
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID (Photo ID required)
- Background Check (within 30 days of start) including:
- Perm and Non-Perm County checks
- National Sex Offender Registry
- Nationwide Criminal Search
- FACIS 3
- Education verification
- Education Verification (degree related to specialty)
- State License verification (Georgia RN license required)
- NURSYS Verification (RN) within 30 days prior to start
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable under certain conditions)
- Physical Exam (within 1 year of start)
- TB Testing: Negative PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; TB Questionnaire required annually
- Immunizations:
- Rubeola (Measles) - 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Mumps - 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Rubella - 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Flu vaccine or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
- Competency Exam (required for Nursing and Allied by agency)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Telemetry, ICU, ER, and related units)
Additional Notes
- Clinical screen required to determine clinical fit before final manager decision
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Candidate must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
- References: 2 clinical references required by agency
- Skills checklist and work history verification required (can be pending at start with proof of processing)
