Job Description

• Specialty: Med Surg Acute Rehab RN
• Patient Populations: Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Amputation, Hip Fracture, Brain Injury, Neuro Disorders, Orthopedics (multiple trauma), Disability
• Shift: 3x12 or 4x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 5:00 AM)
• Weekend Shifts: Some weekend shifts, up to every other weekend
• Travel Radius: 60 mile radius rule
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years Med Surg experience
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first time travelers accepted)
• Orientation: Biweekly orientation on Mondays
• Licensure: Candidates with pending certifications will be considered
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs, professional appearance, child-friendly print tops allowed, scrub/lab coat allowed
• Facility Policy: Nicotine-free campus

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
• Preferred: CRRN (Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse)
• ACLS, PALS as applicable by specialty
• State License verification required prior to start
• NURSYS verification required prior to start

Additional Requirements

• Background checks including SS Trace, County searches (last 7 years), Nationwide, Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3 (updated annually)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start
• Physical exam within last 12 months
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within last year (or chest X-ray within 5 years if positive PPD)
• Immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (vaccines or positive titers required; exemptions apply for candidates born before 1957)
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start
• Flu vaccination required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
• Professional references: Minimum 2 professional references within past 3 years
• Skills checklist required

Summary

This is a travel contract position for a Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of Med Surg experience, working night shifts in an acute rehab setting with diverse patient populations including neuro and ortho trauma. First-time travelers are welcome. The role requires standard nursing certifications and compliance with comprehensive background, health, and immunization requirements.
