Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies and protocols. The RN responds to life-threatening situations with appropriate interventions and organizes care delivery by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, evaluating, and communicating with providers and leaders.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current RN licensure in Idaho
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required

Essential Job Functions

  • Apply the Nursing Process for patients across all age groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
  • Thorough documentation following regulatory and hospital requirements
  • Maintain clinical competencies and professional development for self and others
  • Practice clinical skills in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Good judgment, patience, and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work in a busy, stressful environment with changing patient safety requirements
  • Proficiency with computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
  • Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced math skills, creativity, problem analysis, teamwork, and decision-making

  • Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to qualify

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Competency Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
  • Color Blind Testing (online version acceptable)
  • Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
  • Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors, annual completion required)

Background and Health Requirements

  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Education verification (highest level) required
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • Required immunizations/vaccinations or proof of immunity:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
    • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start

Note: This position follows a 100-mile radius rule; candidates living within 100 miles of the facility are not eligible.
