Description
Travel/Contract Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology
Location: Covington, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: Friday to Sunday (Weekend shifts)
- Call: None
- Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year (accepts first-time travelers)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
Holiday Work Expectations
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler is expected to work it.
- If 2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work both.
- If 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2 of them.
Major Holidays Include:
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving/Black Friday
- Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
- New Years Eve/New Years Day
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time.
- Non-compliance results in a 2-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.
- Number of Non-Billable Orientation Hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks).
Required Credentials & Certifications
Licenses:
- State License verification within 30 days prior to start (Georgia license required for CRTs & RRTs).
- Annual NURSYS verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP within 30 days prior to start.
Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required for relevant specialties.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required except for Microbiology Techs and Med Techs.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required for RNs in certain specialties (ER, PACU, Pre-op, Endo, CSU).
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as applicable.
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) online course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required).
- NIH Stroke Certification as applicable.
- Tech Cert Verification (national certification) if required by specialty.
Background & Health Requirements
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification and criminal searches.
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start.
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months of start. TB Questionnaire required annually.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
- Varicella
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions).
- Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31).
Competency Exams & Testing
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for RNs and LVNs (Aya only).
- Color Blind Testing required for all candidates; alternative evaluation available if needed.
- Competency Exam required for Nursing and Allied (Aya only).
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for Telemetry, ICU, ER, and related units; up to 3 attempts allowed.
Additional Requirements
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months.
- Verification of most recent work history required (can be pending at start with proof it is in process).
- Two clinical references required (Aya requirement).
- Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance.
Notes
- Locals accepted at the same rate.
- RTO (Return to Office) maximum 7 days.
- Floating within facility as needed.
This position is suitable for healthcare professionals in Radiology or Cardiology with at least 1 year of experience, including those new to travel assignments.
