Job Opportunity: Oncology Infusion Center RN (Travel)

Location: Joplin, Missouri
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology Infusion Center

Position Details

  • Shift: Days, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5x8)
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
  • Weekend Hours: None
  • Call Requirements: As required by the facility
  • Float Requirements: Must float as needed, typically between Oncology Clinic and Oncology Infusion Center

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Certifications: BLS required; Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
  • Experience: Minimum 1+ years in Oncology Infusion nursing (higher experience requirement applied)
  • Skills:
    • Infusion experience required
    • Competency in Port Access and PICC line care preferred
    • Chemotherapy certification preferred

Unit Information

  • Patient Population: Oncology patients
  • Patient Ratios:
    • Clinic: Up to 100 patients per day, ratio 1:5
    • Infusion Center: 29 chairs, ratio approximately 4 chairs per nurse
  • Equipment Used: Alaris Pump, vein finder, Port Access, PICC line care
  • EMR System: EPIC

Job Summary

  • Provide expert treatment and evaluation of oncology patients
  • Obtain, verify, and implement physician orders and nursing interventions
  • Monitor patient condition, reassess and document responses to therapies, medications, and interventions
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety
  • Perform or assist in procedures and therapies according to policy and procedure
  • Communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality

Additional Information

  • Flu Vaccination: Required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (exemptions must be client approved)
  • Dress Code: Black scrubs required; T-shirts and other attire not acceptable
