Job Summary: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist
Location: Carmel, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule & Hours
- Shifts:
- Thursday: 7 AM - 7 PM
- Saturday and Sunday: 6 AM - 6 PM
- Call: Up to 4-5 times per month, including holidays
- On-call requirement: One weekend per month plus 1-2 weekdays per month; holidays may be required
- Guaranteed hours:
- 8 and 10 hour shifts totaling 40 hours/week
- 3 shifts of 12 hours = 36 hours/week
- 4 shifts of 12 hours = 48 hours/week
Experience & Requirements
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Required years of experience: 1 year
- Prior travel experience: Not required (first-timers accepted)
- Weekend work: Required
- Floating between units or sister facilities: Not required
- Locals accepted: Yes
- Pending state license: Not accepted (Indiana state license must be in hand)
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
Certifications & Licenses
- Indiana State License (required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.)
Skills & Competencies
- Must be able to perform general X-ray
- Multi-modality CT/XR Technologist
- Comfortable working alone at times
- Experience with Siemens, Carestream Portable, Phillips equipment
- Unit includes:
- 2 Phillips IQon CT Scanners
- 2 Siemens DR XR Rooms
- Carestream Portable units
- Patient types: ER, inpatient, outpatient, adult, pediatrics
- Stroke 1 Accredited Hospital

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
- Background checks including:
- 7-year history verification (SSN trace, county criminal, statewide, national sex offender, FACIS Level III)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification and official transcripts/diplomas
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology test (not required for techs or RRTs)
- Color blind testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific respirators approved)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred but not required)
- Flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (declinations not accepted)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
- TB testing within 1 year (PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-SPOT) and chest x-ray if positive
- References: Minimum 2 from recent employment with supervisory titles
- Employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps
- Skills checklist within 12 months and annually
- Facility-specific forms and orientation packets must be completed prior to start
Additional Notes
- Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- No floating to sister facilities or other units required
- Comfortable working independently
- Indiana RN travel restrictions effective 11/30/24 do not apply to this role (Radiology Tech)
This position is suitable for Radiology/Cardiology technologists with at least 1 year of experience, who hold an Indiana state license and required certifications, and are comfortable with weekend and on-call shifts including holidays. Prior travel experience is not required.
