Job Opportunity: Perioperative Care - First St Surgery Center
Location: Boise, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Certifications
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS (must be certified)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of preoperative experience in outpatient or inpatient settings
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Unit Details
- 26 Preop Bays
- 6 Operating Rooms (ORs)
- 20 Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Bays
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1-2
- Charge nurse coverage: 1 charge nurse over preop/PACU
- CNAs assist with patient rooming, CHG baths, vitals, 12-leads, blood draws, room setup for nerve blocks, cleaning bays, and bed transformations

- Orthopedics (total joints)
- Foot & ankle
- Sports medicine
- Pain procedures
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with nerve blocks and spinal procedures (training provided)
- May float to PACU or other locations including Nampa, Meridian, and Boise campuses
- Travelers are typically first to float
Scheduling & Shifts
- Shift times: 5:30 AM - 4:30 PM, 4-10 hour shifts
- Random day off per week
- Travelers must be flexible to fill gaps in permanent staff coverage
- No guaranteed block scheduling, but schedules provided 4 weeks in advance
- No weekend, holiday, or call requirements
Orientation & Training
- 2 days general orientation
- 1-3 days preceptor training
- Option to test out of Epic EMR class
- EMR system: Epic
Dress Code
- Scrubs of any color
- No artificial nails (must be removed if present)
- Long-sleeve shirt allowed under scrub top, no jackets
Additional Notes
- New facility opened April 2024
- Days Monday-Thursday, hours vary depending on preop or postop shift
- Must be able to float to similar departments as needed
