Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry/Step-Down Unit
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Start Date: Approximately 3-4 weeks out (based on compliance tier)
- Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Telemetry/Step-Down experience required)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call: Not required
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (75-mile radius rule)
- Pending License: Accepted
- Return to Origin (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes

- EPLS/GSA/SAM quarterly checks
- HHS/OIG quarterly checks
- Fingerprinting required for Illinois long-term care or rehab units (not required for IL Home Care)
- Education verification of highest nursing education
- State-specific searches (Missouri and Illinois) as applicable
Licensure
- Primary source verification of professional nursing license (Missouri licenses verified via NURSYS)
- Missouri licenses require NURSYS verification and proof of IV certification for LPN/LVN if applicable
- Illinois temporary licenses require approval; permanent license needed for extension
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Unit-specific competency exam, updated annually
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for telemetry and related units, updated annually
Health Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2 negative PPDs or T-Spot/Q-Gold within 1 year)
- Immunizations or immunity documentation for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific drug panels and be current throughout assignment
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (09/30 - 04/01)
