Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department (ED)

Location: Minneapolis & St. Paul, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks


Job Summary

Provide family-centered nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents in the Pediatric Emergency Department. Responsible for independent nursing functions and delegated medical tasks in collaboration with the healthcare team.


Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Minnesota RN license
  • Current AHA BLS and PALS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing experience (pediatric ED experience highly recommended)
  • Must disclose if previously worked at this facility
  • Interview availability for a 30-minute video call with camera on within 3 business days
  • Prior travel experience not explicitly required

  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - check applicability
  • State RN License verification required
  • NURSYS verification required

Background & Health Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 1 year, including SSN trace, 7-year county and nationwide criminal searches, National Sex Offender Registry, and FACIS level 3
  • Fingerprinting via Minnesota DHS NetStudy required prior to start (candidates cannot start with fingerprints pending unless approved by facility)
  • Education verification (minimum HS diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or higher must specify field of study relevant to nursing or related health sciences)
  • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start (must state “may work without restrictions”)
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or per state requirements)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella immunity documentation or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B immunity or declination form
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination form (masking required if declined)
  • Drug testing within 1 year (9-panel minimum)

Additional Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint Questionnaire immediately after contract signing
  • Compliance with COVID-19 guidelines prior to start
  • Completion of Respiratory Medical Evaluation Questionnaire prior to start
  • Employment application required

Notes

  • Pediatric ED experience is highly recommended but not strictly required beyond the 2 years ED experience minimum
  • Prior travel experience is not stated as a requirement for this position
  • Candidates must be prepared for a hard start date on either January 12 or January 26
